Musica Gloria
Waren het nou broers of neefjes? Hoe dan ook deelden Henry en Daniel Purcell een leven in muziek. Ze zongen in hetzelfde koor, werkten beiden in het Londense theatermilieu en componeerden ook af en toe samen. Musica Gloria vervlecht hun oeuvres tot een imaginaire barokopera, waarvan de aria’s, dansen en instrumentale stukken wonderlijk in elkaar grijpen: een royaal palet aan Engelse barok voor contratenor, blokfluiten, hobo, gamba en continuo.
