Musica Gloria
Were they brothers or cousins? In any case, Henry and Daniel Purcell shared a life in music. They sang in the same choir, both worked in the London theatre scene, and even composed together occasionally. Musica Gloria intertwines their oeuvres into an imaginary Baroque opera, in which the arias, dances, and instrumental pieces interlock wondrously: a generous palette of English Baroque for countertenor, recorders, oboe, viola da gamba, and continuo.
