Concert hall? We prefer the open air! With music that mixes with traffic, conversations, and wind, the Carillon Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht gives a voice to the city every year. From the Dom Tower, the Hemony carillon rings out daily – the instrument that has been telling Utrechters the time since 1664. Carillon luminaries and young talent alike get their own showcase. And make a note of the fact that the Utrecht Bell Ringers' Guild will be there with a grand peal (all 14 bells of the Dom Tower!), bell-ringing workshops, and a genuine bell lecture.
It’s going to be a treat: on that one bench in the afternoon sun, at your favourite outdoor cafe, in the entrance of the Dom, or in your own place with the window open.
