Aapo Häkkinen
Two keyboard masters, separated by two centuries. William Byrd and Johann Sebastian Bach wrote music rooted in tradition and growing in imagination. During this recital, Aapo Häkkinen explores their early and late oeuvres: from Byrd’s intimate pavans and fantasies to the unparalleled architectural artistry in Bach’s preludes and fugues. We follow Häkkinen’s train of thought along a path of keys, from Renaissance to Baroque and back again.
