Malgosia Fiebig

Whoever says Vienna, says Mozart and Haydn. But before these heroes, Johann Joseph Fux and Antonio Caldara held the reins of the Hofmusikkapelle there. They were instrumental for the flourishing of musical life at the Habsburg court. Malgosia Fiebig serves up a tasting platter of their masterful oeuvres: overtures, sonatas, and a stately ciaccona. Music that once delighted palaces is sure to be equally popular at an outdoor café in Utrecht!

Malgosia Fiebig studied organ and choral conducting in Gdansk, where in 1999 she was appointed as the first carillonneur in sixty years. She continued her studies in the Netherlands with Arie Abbenes and Bernard Winsemius. Since September 2011 she has been city carillonneur in Nijmegen as well as in Utrecht, where she appears in the (Carillon) Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht.
