Fringe: Turon

This concert is part of the free fringe programme of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht 2026.

Turon is a young ensemble based in The Hague, specialising in early music from Central and Eastern Europe, with particular attention to the folk traditions of these regions. Combining historical research, archival sources, field recordings and a physical understanding of dance music, the ensemble seeks to create coherent and engaging performances for modern audiences. Turon explores the connections between written sources, oral traditions and movement, presenting early music in a way that speaks both to audiences familiar with the early music scene and to those encountering this repertoire for the first time.
