La Tempête
La Tempête transports the audience into the atmosphere of the days leading up to Easter, when sorrow and hope lie close together. Over the course of three key days in the church year – Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday – the programme builds step by step towards Easter, accompanied by appropriate music.
In this concert, Gregorian chants and Renaissance music by Orlandus Lassus, Thomas Tallis and Cristóbal de Morales come together with the contemplative works of Arvo Pärt and the impressive double-choir mass by Frank Martin.
Two choirs move through the space, enveloping the audience in sound. This creates an intense musical experience in which different eras and styles converge in a single nocturnal journey.
Also live on www.emtv.online.
With an introduction by Annelies Andries (19:15 hrs, in Dutch) and a Q&A session (after the concert, in English), both taking place in the Fentener van Vlissingen Foyer (limited capacity)
