Stile Antico
In the 16th century, Seville became the gateway to a global empire. Besides goods, supplies and crew, the ships also carried music to the colonies. Stile Antico stretches the canvas of the New World with repertoire that was cherished in Mexican cathedral libraries - from simple hymns, villancicos in Nahuatl and South American counterpoint, to Spanish polyphony by standard bearers Francisco Guerrero and Alonso Lobo.
