Ensemble Castelkorn & Céline Scheen
In Baroque Kroměříž – now the Czech Republic – Italy sounds surprisingly close. At the bishop's court are heard not only the motets of Giovanni Legrenzi, but also elegant instrumental sonatas by Pietro Andrea Ziani and works by Pavel Josef Vejvanovský – trumpeter, composer, copyist, and linchpin of Italophile repertoire in Moravian circles. Ensemble Castelkorn reaps the fruits of that exchange with seven instruments and the sparkling voice of soprano Céline Scheen.
