Ensemble Masques
Long ago, somewhere on the island of Sicily. Galatea loses her heart to Acis. But the jealous Polyphemus also sets his sights on the desirable nymph – with all the fateful consequences that ensue. In Handel's Acis and Galatea, the world is populated by whistling birds, shepherds in love, and fierce cyclops. Soprano Rachel Redmond and Ensemble Masques present this juicy pastorale with a playful wink and a touch of seduction.
