Utopia Ensemble
From city musician to business magnate: Tielman Susato made 16th-century Antwerp sing and swing. In his printing house 'Den Cromhorn' the most beautiful polyphony rolled off the presses, including more than 90 chansons from his own hand. Utopia Ensemble sketches a portrait of this multi-talent with a selection of compositions by Susato himself, and by other composers such as Josquin and Lassus, that were printed in Antwerp. Highlight: Salve quae roseo decora serto, Susato's ode to the city that gave wings to his dreams.
