Casper Struijk

Harmonium, organ, piano: give Casper Struijk a set of keys and he can do something with it. Hammers are also fine by the way! In his fringe concert, this talented student of the Netherlands Carillon School will be browsing through sonatas from 18th century Spain: music full of surprises and daredevilry. In addition to work by Albero, Soler and Nebra, there is also a baroque variation series on the well-known Bayle del Gran Duque.

About the performer

It's no surprise that the youngest carillon student at this moment, Casper Struijk (2004), was often found behind the harmonium in the living room as a baby. Not long after, he started taking organ and carillon lessons, and meanwhile, he is studying both instruments at the Rotterdam Conservatory and the Royal Dutch Carillon School in Amersfoort. In September 2019, Casper won the second prize at the international Ambitus Organ Competition in the youngest age category.
