Historic Al-Andalus came into existence in the 7th century. It was known as a place of religious tolerance. This period came to an end during the (re)conquista, the final expulsion of all Muslims in 1492, and then all Jews. Can Al-Andalus give us ideas for other places in the world, such as the conflict between Israel and Palestine?
