Fringe: Lawrence Chiou
This concert is part of the free fringe programme of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht 2026.
Lawrence Chiou (b. 1992) studied harpsichord and fortepiano with JungHae Kim, George Barth, and Elaine Thornburgh alongside a degree in biophysics at Stanford University, where he received the Graduate Prize in Music for harpsichord. He was a finalist in the inaugural Guildhall Krebs Harpsichord Competition. As president of Clavecin Society, Lawrence supports early music and outstanding musicians and projects. He has published a new edition of Wagenseil’s concerto for four harpsichords and is currently preparing a new edition of works by Jacques Duphly.
