Ordo Virtutum

For centuries, monks sang a single melody. Until someone dared to add a second. Thus, around the year 1000, a new phenomenon emerged: the organum. What begins as a shadow voice grows into a sophisticated polyphonic art form that leaves all of Europe perplexed. Ordo Virtutum follows this revolutionary development from the monasteries around Lake Constance to Chartres, Santiago, and Notre-Dame in Paris.

It regularly performs at international festivals in Europe, the USA, and Australia, earning praise for its ‘artistic mastery of singing and instrumental playing.’
