The Counterpoints

The travelling musician
Globalisation: new phenomenon or old hat? Even around 1700, people travelled a lot: the rich went on a 'Grand Tour' to learn and experience, merchants and artists to buy and sell, musicians to spot trends or start a craze. The Counterpoints follow in the footsteps of the 'Musicista Itinerante' with music by Geminiani, Purcell, McGibbon, Corelli and Vivaldi, recalling the special connection between Italy and the British Isles.
