Martin de Ruiter, 30 Aug 23:59 - TivoliVredenburg / Grote Zaal
Language: Dutch
On Saturday 30 August, there is actually a night programme for the Ambassadors. At 23:00, Ambassador Cas van Dijk will give you a Q&A with Martin de Ruiter before A Night At The Film Museum. A night in which art forms come together and image and sound combine with the genre of early music. In fact, Martin de Ruiter is both organist and programmer of Film Museum EYE. Cas and Martin will go into depth about this combination, sources of inspiration, the history of film and music and how to preserve them.
Cappella Mariana, 4 Sep 17:00 - Domkerk
Language: English
It is one of the most beautiful music manuscripts ever if you ask us: the Mechelen Choir Book. Duchess Margaret of Austria collected her entire music collection in this book during the 16th century. At the first Google result, you can see right away how different reading the music from such a choir book must have been. That is why Ambassador Esmee offers the opportunity to try out how it works, singing from a choir book: what do the images tell you, what is the historical background it carries and how do you sing from it? On Thursday 4 September at 16:00, you will hear all about it in the café of the Dom Church. Preceding the concert by Cappella Mariana with repertoire from this choir book!
Cappella Romana, 6 Sep 20:00 - Jacobikerk
Language: English
Usually when we think of palm reading we think of seeing the future in your life line, but what if you can sing by reading notes from your hand? Ambassador Wessel hosts a workshop Guidonian Hand by Tim Braithwaite in which this ancient system of conducting is not only explained, but also tried out right away. So lubricate your throat so that you too can hand sing afterwards! The workshop takes place at 19:00 in the Jacobi Church, prior to the concert of Cappella Romana.
Channel your inner Bridgerton and put on your dancing shoes! Led by dancer Rachel Farr, we'll get to work on allemandes, bourees and gavottes during this mini ball for Ambassadors at TivoliVredenburg. Afterwards, we will go together to the concert by Capriccio Stravagante Renaissance Orchestra, who will perform the dance music live. As an Ambassador, you pay only €17,50 for a combi ticket (workshop + concert).
The workshop is full, unfortunately. You can register for the waiting list or buy a ticket for only the concert.
