Elam Rotem & Perrine Devillers
In 1600, a new chapter in the history of vocal music began. For the first time, songs were written for one voice with accompaniment. Luzzasco Luzzaschi's compositions for the legendary concerto delle donne in Ferrara and songs by virtuoso nuns offer a rare glimpse into a new way of singing that would eventually lead to the birth of opera. French soprano Perrine Devillers, together with keyboard player Elam Rotem, guides us through this breathtaking repertoire full of drama and bravura.
