Música Temprana - Shepherds at the Spanish Court
25 – 30 May 2027

Sometimes you just want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This feeling was also familiar to people during the Spanish Renaissance: the nobility dreamed en masse of an idyllic, carefree peasant life. So don't expect stiff formality, but rather folk energy with courtly elegance full of passion and melancholy, blurring the boundary between court and countryside. A unique opportunity to hear the soul of Castile in works by Juan del Encina, Mateo Flecha and others. To be honest, I myself would like to be that shepherd for a day and leave the busy world far behind.

Francesco Corti - Bending without breaking: keyboard sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti
27 & 28 February 2027

At many a harpsichord recital my mind wanders sooner or later, but when Domenico Scarlatti is on the program that’s unlikely. Virtuosic or fierce, then again melancholic or tender: his intriguing sonatas always captivate me. Francesco Corti, one of my favorite harpsichordists, will undoubtedly provide a fantastic start to the Scarlatti Festival!

Eva Saladin, Daniel Rosin & Johannes Keller - Veracini's Academic Adventures
17 – 22 January 2027

As early as 2021, Eva Saladin was one of the Artists in Residence at Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht. She made a great impression on me at the time with her Ensemble Odyssee and in a concert together with Daniel Rosin and Johannes Keller, with whom she recently released Veracini’s Sonate Accademiche on CD. The most difficult passages sound effortless on her violin, yet remain expressive and full of interpretation. I am very much looking forward to hearing the repertoire from this CD live and to enjoying the interaction between the musicians that was also so strongly present in 2021.

Ensemble Correspondances & Lucile Richardot – Northern Lights
12 – 14 March 2027

Ensemble Correspondances is fantastic. I’ve been fortunate to enjoy their CDs for years, featuring composers such as Lully, Schütz, Buxtehude, and a great deal of Charpentier. Big names that are popular for a reason – it’s wonderful music. But in this Tournee the ensemble shows that there was much more than what was heard on the European continent: music from the Swedish court in the seventeenth century, collected by the court composer Gustav Düben. I’m very curious to hear this rare repertoire!

Le Caravansérail - Couperin's Leçons de ténèbres: Light in the Darkness
9 – 14 December 2026

The Leçons de ténèbres by François Couperin are based on the Lamentations of Jeremiah.
The three lessons are regarded as a pinnacle of Baroque vocal art. The best known is the third lesson, written for two sopranos and viola da gamba – a scoring that evokes a refined, ethereal and delicate atmosphere. The intense, meditative melodies combine French devotion with Italian sensitivity – a true must to experience.

Cantoría XL - ¡Feliz Navidad!
15 – 20 December 2026

If there is one thing I truly love, it is the winter season – I always look forward to the dark days. Still, for me it should come with a bit of warmth and temperament. And what better way to get that than with Cantoría’s Christmas concert in an XL line-up? This artist in residence of our Seville festival in 2024 always delivers beautiful Spanish Renaissance and Baroque music of the highest quality, with an enormous dose of positive energy. A delight – that warmth on cold days.
