Fringe: Bruegel Consort
This concert is part of the free fringe programme of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht 2025.
Bruegel Consort is a five-part early music vocal ensemble specialising in fifteenth- and sixteenth-century sacred polyphony. The ensemble was founded in 2023 by Lilly Vadaneaux in Cambridge, where its members sang together in college choirs and in the Cambridge Early Music Consort, run by Edward Wickham and Matthew Gouldstone. Bruegel Consort was selected to perform in the fringe programme of Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht 2024, where it presented Tudor composer William Rasar’s mass Christe Jesu from an edition created by tenor Nick Walters. Bruegel Consort is the recipient of the Stile Antico Ensemble Development Bursary 2024-26.
