Fringe: Daniel Murphy
This concert is part of the free fringe programme of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht 2025.
Daniel Murphy (1999) studied classical guitar at the Royal College of Music before becoming its first undergraduate principal-study theorbo player. As half of the Flutes & Frets Duo, he has won major prizes including the 2023 Romanus Weichlein Prize. He collaborates with leading ensembles such as Ex-Cathedra and Dowland Works, and performs with singers including Emma Kirkby. Highlights include appearances at Windsor Castle and in Germany, and winning the 2024 La Risonanza EMSA Competition.
