Jean Rondeau
In his fourth concert and second organ recital, Jean Rondeau explores Couperin’s color palette and textural experiments. With fantaisies and fugues, he showcases Couperin’s bold harmonic language. Pieces featuring cromhorne and tremblant lent reveal how Couperin played with organ registrations, and how his deep understanding of acoustics and instrument building enriched his creativity. The program ends with the introspective Jesu Salvator Saeculi: a meditative moment bridging Couperin’s secular and sacred music.
