Johanna Rose
‘Wonderfully muscular... visceral and direct,’ wrote one reviewer. ‘Of the calibre of Jordi Savall, Wieland Kuijken and Hille Perl,’ considered another, whilst yet another spoke of ‘a revelation, undoubtedly on the way to a great career.’ Johanna Rose is the gambist of the moment. In this concert she pairs dances by Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe, the presumed inventor of the seventh string on the bass viol, with two suites by that other great gentleman, Johann Sebastian Bach.
