Castello Consort
I pack my bag and in it I put... my favourite music! So did Archduke Leopold Wilhelm of Austria, who in 1647 took his entire court chapel in tow when he went to capture the throne in Brussels as the authority of the Southern Netherlands. His Austrian, German and Italian musicians would go on to inspire numerous local composers. For Leopold's playlist, which includes Marco Uccellini and Nicolaes à Kempis, the Castello Consort deploys its most imperial combo.
