Musicaz
Exchange and connection are central to Musicaz, a collective of musicians from Utrecht who meet at AZCs and share music from all corners of the world. About 12 years ago, Jonás Bisquert started the initiative and it soon became clear how much musical potential was present. With this, it was at the basis of the Catching Cultures Orchestra.
At Musicaz, an enormous wealth of instruments, tonal systems and unusual time signatures are featured. The interaction between different cultures leads to new and creative musical discoveries, plus the chance to learn to listen 'with someone else's ears'. On these evenings from 28 to 30 August, musicians and Festival Early Music Utrecht audiences are invited to join in and become part of this musical exchange. Who knows, you might even sing along to a song you would otherwise never know!
Musicaz makes music every week on different evenings at the 3 AZC locations in Utrecht. Under the wings of Het Wilde Westen, supported by Plan Einstein, music is made on Wednesday evenings in the Star Lodge, on Thursdays in the Joseph Haydnlaan and on Fridays in the Pahud.
