Fabulous Fringe: Bachleitner & Pfeffer
This concert is part of the free fringe programme of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht 2024.
Niels Pfeffer is comfortable with almost every instrument that is plucked or has keys and studied basso continuo, harpsichord, guitar, and lute in Stuttgart, Freiburg, The Hague, and Basel. Niels has played with numerous orchestras and festivals and teaches theorbo at the Stuttgart University of Music and works as accompanist with harpsichord and lute at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
Mezzo-soprano Anna Bachleitner has been praised as a “highly flexible voice artist, richly equipped with nuanced colors of sound and expression.” Anna specialized in early music in her studies at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel and later at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. She has appeared on the opera stage in the Confidencen Opera & Music Festival Academy (Sweden), and at the Brighton Early Music Festival as Melissa in La liberazione di Ruggiero by Caccini. Anna is currently a Young Bach Fellow of the Netherlands Bach Society.
