Fringe: Flutes & Frets Duo
This concert is part of the free fringe programme of the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht 2024.
The Flutes & Frets Duo consists of flutist Beth Stone and lutenist Daniel Murphy. Stone started playing the flute when she was six, and during her studies she discovered a love for historical repertoire. She plays all kinds of flutes, from the Renaissance to the present, giving her the opportunity to take her place in many different ensembles and orchestras. Murphy began his career in music on guitar, choosing historical plucked stringed instruments via classical guitar. This made him one of the first theorbo players to earn a bachelor's degree in this instrument from the Royal College of Music in London.
