Eva Saladin, Daniel Rosin & Johannes Keller
They have everything, the Sonate Accademiche by the eccentric violinist Francesco Maria Veracini: intellectual rigour, raging runs, and overwhelming expressiveness. Incidentally, the term ‘accademia’ here doesn't mean dry academic fare, but rather ‘concert’: a performance piece in which the performer is given every opportunity to show their best side. Eva Saladin, Daniel Rosin, and Johannes Keller take Veracini's advice to heart about combining sonata movements to taste, and piecing together their own Baroque wonderland.
